picture 1: Cut the bottom of a shoe box on an angle, so that when place upside down, the top surface slopes up toward the back. With an Exacto knife, cut slits in the bottom of the box every two inches. Continue the cuts down the side of the box about an inch, angling the cuts away from the front of the box. (This will help the folders tip toward the back, instead of flopping forward.)

If you like, cut a circle in the front and pop in the plastic top from a discarded aerosol can—it will be the perfect catch-all for paper clips. Or insert a cup or can to use for pens and pencils. Ta-dah! An organized desk.
